ACTRESS Suzanne Collins will cut the ribbon at the opening of a drop-in centre championing the rights of disabled people.
The centre, run by Wirral Independent Disabled People’s Forum, opens on Tuesday, March 2 at the Lauries Centre in Birkenhead.
The forum is led by disabled people, for disabled people, and provides information, advice and support for disabled people and their carers.
The centre aims to promote the right of every disabled person to exercise choice and control over decisions that shape their future.
Services will include regular coffee mornings, peer support and advice, a database of people looking to share housing and training for volunteers.
The centre will be open to people with any kind of disability and their carers, from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.
