£12m investment in a next generation super fast fibre optic broadband network for Wirral businesses.
£500,000 to create new apprenticeships under the Wirral Apprentice scheme, doubling the original target from 100 to 200
£8.9m investment over three years in Assistive technology for the elderly and vulnerable
£18m investment over four years in a free home insulation initiative, extending a free insulation offer to the whole of the borough’s private sector households
A series of measures to improve the environment, energy efficiency and carbon reduction, nicluding the appointment of a full-time “eco officer” to work with children and community groups to reduce waste and increase recycling
A four year rolling £1.1m programme introducing 20mph limits in all residential areas not designated as major routes.

£100,000 to extend the Get into Reading programme into Wirral’s five poorest wards, into residential homes, into dementia care and into looked after children
£40,000 into preventing sales of alcohol to under age youngsters
£75,000 to freeze all car parking charges on street and in council owned car parks, plus a guarantee that no charges will be imposed where none exist at present.
£260,000 to make the funding for the You Decide programme permanent
£40,000 to create a special post for a qualified accountant to support the development of community groups and the development of business plans.
£30,000 to help co-ordinate services for ethnic minority communities in Wirral.
