Woman dies after being hit by car

A WOMAN died after being hit by a car on Hoylake Road, Birkenhead.
The 44-year-old, named locally as Debbie and believed to be a mum-of-two, was knocked down by a Renault Megane at 10.45pm on Tuesday near to the pedestrian crossing at Gautby Road.
She was taken to Arrowe Park Hospital but died later from her injuries.
The driver of the Megane is assisting police with the enquiries.
