Voluntary award for YMCA board member

A MEMBER of Birkenhead YMCA’s board has been recognised for her efforts in voluntary service.
Susan Nicholas has been awarded the Order of the Red Triangle by the National Council of YMCAs for serving as a voluntary member on the board for more than 40 years.
Susan was 26 was she took up the role, and has played a key part in activities aimed at improving and rehabilitating young adults who attend.
Susan is also the holder of the Institute of Horticulture’s President’s Medal, in recognition of her work with young people within the horticultural sector at Deeside College.
College principal David Jones said: “We are extremely proud of Susan’s achievements.”
