Torrential rail has battered the area since January 22, blocking the route by train in and out of the nearest main city and historical Inca capital, Cusco.
People have been killed and thousands of homes destroyed.
The couple had hoped to get a private helicopter to safety but the bad weather hindered the rescue.
Around 20 British tourists were among the first to be airlifted out with around 500 travellers rescued by government helicopters.
The rescue operation was complicated by tourists still turning up in the area daily.
