Established in 1997, the CrBP brings together over 40 organisations, groups and individuals to work collectively towards a common vision of a Cheshire region richer in Wildlife by 2020. The members of the CrBP are listed in the Partners section.
Members of the partnership contribute voluntary time and funding to forward biodiversity actions, research, wildlife recording and practical conservation works to help safeguard the future of the Cheshire region’s wildlife.
Recently, Wirral Barn Owl Trust and The Friends of Caldy Nature Reserve were two of the beneficiaries of the partnership’s small projects grant scheme.
The funding aims to help species and habitats that are considered vulnerable or declining in the region and, in many cases, across the UK.
Wirral Barn Owl Trust will be awarded money for camera equipment and barn owl box material, while the Friends of Caldy Nature Reserve will have funding to create a pond at the reserve.
Woprk is also underway to restore the lost Meres and Mosses on the Forestry Commission estate at Delamere Forest, which have been dry for 80 years.
The Forestry Commission and Natural England are spearheading plans for the re-wetting of Delamere in a bid to conserve the rare natural landscape and benefit important wildlife and plant species in the region.
