Sister Mary blog electrifies Wirral political scene

A NEW political voice has emerged in Wirral, and she claims to have a direct line to the man above.

‘Sister Mary’ professes to be a nun, who happens to have a passing interest in Wallasey politics which has translated into her very own blog – and Wirral News has secured an interview with the lady herself.

Using the language she is probably most familiar with, Leasowe Cllr Ian Lewis has become ‘Sister’ Lewis, while Liscard Cllr Leah Fraser has assumed the rather more royal moniker, ‘Princess Leah’.

Certainly, despite her protestation that she has no political leanings and only believes “in a fair and just society as the Lord intended”, Sister Mary seems to rather prefer Labour representatives and can’t help having a crack at Conservative councillors and candidates.

She even goes so far as to claim the party’s possible rise to power was enough to turn her to life in a nunnery.Via email, Sister Mary told Wirral News: “The prospect of the Tories winning the next election was enough to inspire me to become a nun.”

So far Sister Mary, who only arrived online last week, has wondered aloud over Cllr ‘Princess’ Leah Fraser, Cllr ‘Sister’ Ian Lewis and Labour defector, Cllr Dennis Knowles, but says her fellow nuns have no interest in her blog.

Sister Mary said: “We don’t really discuss my blog.

“I prefer not to talk, but simply write down my thoughts and feelings on local political activity.

“You are quite privileged to be interviewing me actually, but as it’s for Wirral News...”
