Bromborough Riverside residents slam housing association over ‘freezing’ homes
BROMBOROUGH Pool Village residents say their homes are “derelict” and they are “absolutely disgusted” with their “horrendous” living conditions .
As the cold snap forced many of us to stay indoors, those renting houses in the village say they found no such respite, as ice built up on the inside of windows and doors, in lounges, kitchens and bathrooms.
Riverside Housing looks after the properties but residents say they are so fed up a petition totalling 82 signatures, out of a possible 87, has been collected and will be presented to the housing association demanding action is taken.
Widow Marion Rogers has lived in her one-bedroom property for 17 years.
The 75-year-old told Wirral News: “We’ve had ice on the inside of windows in the lounge, in the kitchen and ice in the bathroom.
“The neighbour next door is the same and lots of people have got bits of windows missing.
“I just put my heating on for as long as I can.
“But even if I’ve got the heating on, I’ve still got to wear lots of fleeces and, at 75, I can’t have the heating on day and night.
“All the walls outside are porous and they’re all damp.
