Birkenhead's Revolver set fair for 2010

Revolver’s Keith Thompson said: “We are pleased to welcome back our main tribute to Deep Purple as they have been missed.

“Now with a new keyboard player, as a Purple fan myself, I can honestly say that the band live and breathe the real thing on stage.”

While other tributes to rock luminaries such as Megadeath are not too far away.

Friday nights will see the return of live bands to replace the DJ slot, including Freed and Skinny Lizard.

Keith Thompson said: “We’re a rock venue but we hope our line-up will appeal to a number of different people interested in live music.

“It’s not just for the hard core rock audience.”

The Rock Room, or R2, will also be hosting live performers from local bands, so audiences can mix it up once inside.
