Wirral Council secret report recommends buying New Ferry Butterfly Park

The butterfly park has been run entirely through donations, grants and volunteers since it was set up in 1993.

The land, near Bebington station, is leased by the Cheshire Wildlife Trust (CWT) from Brock plc, which have told them to vacate the site.

The butterfly park is regarded as one of the best butterfly sites in Cheshire.

It is also home to many other “mini-beasts” such as spiders, moths, bumble bees, grasshoppers, shield bugs, woodlice, snails and hoverflies.

The site had previously been a problem with fly-tipping.

No one from Brock was available for comment on the CPO.
