“Being a single mum– of–three I don’t have a lot of money and this was a big present so I couldn’t really get him anything else.
“I feel awful now as he has nothing from Christmas. I hope that whoever did this gives it back. It’s not fair to upset a young boy.”
The red and white midi motorbike has distinctive markings on it and can be easily identified by Ms Taylor and her son–in–law who she bought the bike from.
In floods of tears Michael told the ECHO: “It was the best Christmas present I have ever had.
“I couldn’t believe it when I got it. I was shouting and screaming I was that excited.
“I’m so sad now that it has gone. I just want to ride. Please give me my bike back.
“I have no idea who has taken it or why.”
Ms Taylor added: “I’ve not seen him this upset before. He just sits in his room crying.”
Police are investigating and ask people with information to ring 0151 709 6010.
