Mount Snowdon 320
A DAD and son from the Wirral were winched to safety by helicopter after becoming stranded on Snowdon.
The pair, who were not equipped for winter conditions, became stranded in the Devil’s Kitchen area on Sunday.
Ogwen Valley mountain rescue team spokesman Chris Lloyd, said: "Luckily they had a whistle and someone heard their calls for help."
They were winched aboard a rescue helicopter and taken to the Ogwen team base for a debrief.
Last night mountain leaders urged walkers to think carefully about what conditions they can handle based on their experience, and check equipment before taking to the hills.
