New Ronald McDonald House for families staying with children in hospital opens at Arrowe Park Hospital
A HOME from home for families staying with their children in hospital has officially opened.
The new Ronald McDonald House at Arrowe Park Hospital has so far helped 14 families from across the country, allowing them to be close to their child in hospital.
The campaign to build the centre has been supported from the start by ex–Brookside actresses Ann Marie Davies & Suzanne Collins, who officially cut the ribbon on Wednesday.
Families have saved an average 16 hours and 385 miles of travelling each week, just by staying closer to visit their child.
A spokesman said: “Many children have to travel long distances to be treated at the hospital, and the Ronald McDonald House will allow parents to stay close by and provide important emotional support during their child’s stay.”
