But he drew the ire of one voter, student Bob Sutton, who told him: “I think a politician who says he’s not into politics is even more worrying.”

He noted that Wirral Council has no Green representative, adding that others usually follow once the first seat is achieved.
Alec McFadden told those assembled he would move to return bin collections to a weekly cycle, create a youth club on every estate and scrap tunnel fees.
Revenue demands would be met by increased taxation, he said.

Polls open on Thursday at Christ Church Primary, Moreton Community Centre, Foxfield School, St Mary’s Church Centre and the Grange pub car park.
