Liverpool Crown Court _60
A SON was jailed after attacking his loving parents and threatening to kill them with a saw.
Drunken David Matthews, 26, grabbed the weapon from his parents’ garage after viciously assaulting them in a row over money.
Liverpool Crown Court heard he asked his mum, 58, for cash and was furious when she only gave him £20.
He threw a chair at her as she sat knitting before grabbing her hair and dragging her around the kitchen of the family’s home in Adaston Avenue, Eastham, Wirral, last August.
Matthews’ dad, 60, tried to calm him by offering to drive him to the pub.
But the court heard he stopped when his son began punching him in the face – and he only managed to flee when Matthews got out of the car.
When he got back Matthews was already there and jumped on him.
The court heard he began punching his legs, knowing his dad suffered from the nerve condition sciatica and that would cause him maximum pain.
