A WINDSURFER had to be rescued from West Kirby Marine Lake after becoming stranded.
The Bebington man, in his thirties, was pulled towards the lake wall by strong winds and high tides at around 12pm today (November 5).
A member of the public informed Liverpool Coastguards who sent a team from West Kirby lifeboats to rescue him. He was brought to safety with no injuries.
Paul Harrison, of Liverpool Coastguard, said: “The man had become so exhausted by the strength of the wind and tide, that he had become stranded.
“If people are thinking of going windsurfing in the lake in conditions like these, then I would suggest they don’t go out alone.”
