Praise for the Wirral News Your Champions winners

FIVE  names are now on  Wirral News’  roll of honour ... as our Your Champions nominees  go through to the finals of the  Trinity Mirror-Scottish  Power Your Champions  awards.

The competition has been exceptionally tough and  the judges have had a hard time  deliberating.

Jane Clare, Executive Editor for the Wirral News, said: “We received scores of nominations for the inaugural Your Champions competition.

“It was really inspirational to read people’s stories and see what they do to make a difference in their community.

“Picking winners was really hard. But everyone who was nominated deserves credit for the work they do.

“The Wirral News team now has our fingers crossed that our own  category winners can make a mark in the regional contest.”

The Wirral News winners  will now attend a gala dinner at Chester’s Crowne Plaza  Hotel on Friday, November 6,  when they will be feted by  Trinity Mirror Cheshire – the sister publishers to the Wirral News  – and  our co-sponsors ScottishPower.

At the lavish awards night, to be hosted by snooker star Willie Thorne, the names of the overall regional winners also will be announced.
