Rottweilers kill puppy
A PUPPY was killed and his owner cornered when two Rottweilers escaped from their Wirral garden.
Kenny Phillips and his wife Christine suffered further heartbreak when their son was taken to hospital after suffering an allergic reaction to a wasp sting when he was burying the dog.
Mr Phillips, 52, had been walking the family’s two dogs, cocker spaniel Jess and their 14 month–old Terrier pup Charlie along Pensby Road on Thursday when the dogs attacked.
Hairdresser Christine, 51, said: “Kenny was walking the dogs up Pensby Road and was trying to save our dogs by putting them on his shoulders and then onto a high wall. Charlie, our puppy, then fell off the high wall and was again attacked by the Rottweilers.
“He then ran into the road and was killed by an on coming car. We took Charlie to the vet but he was dead. We kept him in his basket overnight. We’re so devastated.”
As the family were coming to terms with the loss of Charlie their son Mark was stung by a wasp while burying him in the garden.
Christine added: “His face, neck and eyes started to swell. He was taken to hospital and had 10 steroid shots. He’s okay now.”
