Merseyside Police dogs star in charity calendar

A CALENDAR featuring Merseyside Police dogs is raising cash for Guide Dogs for the Blind.

The £5 cost of the Dog Section 2010 publication will be donated to the charity.

Insp Neil Davies said: “Our dogs are working dogs but I wanted to show they do have their play and leisure time.

“The photographer Steve Ellet, an ex-police officer, his wife Jan and I have been planning this for a year.

“We got lots of sponsors who covered the cost of production and all the handlers gave up their time for free.

The first guide dog training centre in the UK opened in Wallasey in 1931.

Order your calendar at charity.calender@merseyside.police.uk or pick one up from Wallasey Police Station, Mather Avenue, St Anne Street or the force’s Canning Place HQ.
