Reward offered after Moreton bank is robbed

UP TO £25,000 is being offered as a reward to anyone who can provide information about a robbery at a bank in Moreton.

Three men wearing dark clothing and balaclavas threatened staff and assaulted a security guard in Lloyds TSB, Hoylake Road, Moreton Cross.

They made off with a large amount of cash during the robbery on 11.30am on Tuesday, October 6. The security guard suffered injuries to his face and shoulder and was taken to hospital, but he has since been discharged.

Lloyds TSB are now putting up the cash to help trace the offenders.

Detective Inspector Neil Shaw, from the Matrix Robbery team, said: “This was a particularly nasty robbery and it’s fortunate that no-one was more seriously injured.

“Robberies such as this are not victimless crimes and attacks against guards are often extremely violent.”

The incident occurred in a busy shopping area and we are sure someone will be able to help us further.”

Officers are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen a silver-coloured Audi A4 type car in the Bidston area just after the attack. Anyone with details should call 0151 777 5608, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
