With two days left before the time limit for prosecution lapsed, she was astonished to be charged with assault and hauled in by police.
Called to give evidence in front of a tearful Mrs Patson, nurses Shirley Thomas and Angela Davies called her an “excellent” and “brilliant” nurse with 27 years of experience.
It was said that far from grabbing the resident’s broken arm, Mrs Patson had supported it from underneath to stop it falling, supporting her back with her free hand while the patient was able to stand herself up.
Her manager Oriel Wilson said: “Jess is a dedicated nurse who goes the extra mile for people and I can’t wait to have her back at work.”
Alice Wilson returned to the home later that year and has subsequently died.
After her name was cleared, and supported by her husband and sons, Jessimol said: “This has been a really hard year but I knew I hadn’t done anything wrong.
“All I want to do now is get back to work.”
