Bromborough sports academy plan wins councillors support

The academy would create 30 new jobs and Mr Granby says it would train 270 youths for employment each year.

There are also plans to host international coaching seminars.

Bromborough councillor Steve Niblock has written to Government Office North West in support of the scheme and pressing for “a speedy and favourable decision”.

He said: “This high-quality facility would put Wirral on a national and maybe international stage for sports training.

“This is an outstanding result.”
