NSPCC holding first Wirral fundraising event at the Hillbark Hotel in November

A BLACK Tie Ball in aid of the NSPCC’s Safe Place Appeal takes place this winter at the Hillbark Hotel.

It is hoped the massive charity event, being held in Royden Park, will raise funds and awareness of the NSPCC appeal.

The evening of entertainment taking place from 7pm on November 14, will include a drinks reception on arrival, a casino table, a tombola and a three course banquette.

There will also be swing music provided by a seven-piece line-up of world class musicians, fronted by Paul Pashley.

All the money raised will help the charity’s centre on Great Homer Street, Liverpool, keep functioning.

The base which receives 7,500 attempted Childline calls every day also runs a domestic violence project and has a substance misuse team.

Helen Gazzola, the NSPCC’s community fundraising manager for the North West, said: “It costs us £4 every time we answer a Childline call – so charity events and donations are vital for us to keep going.

“The Black Tie Ball should be a really lovely evening.

“We’re hoping it will be a success and we will gain more support in the local community.”

Cathy Frost, who chairs the NSPCC's fundraising committee, added: "This event at the Hillbark Hotel is going to be a huge amount of fun.

“It is the first time we've ventured into Wirral for a fundraising event – everything we've organised for the Safe Place Appeal so far has been in Liverpool and we wanted to take it outside of the city, so this is really exciting.

"Hillbark is absolutely gorgeous and we're really happy that we've secured it for the ball.

"This event will have something for everyone."

Tickets cost £75 and there are tables of 10 available.
