CELEBRATE all things Bidston at the Bidston Culture and Heritage Day this Saturday (September 26).
The day, organised by Bidston Preservation Trust, will have an environmental theme and representatives from Wirral Council will be there to tell visitors about CRED – Wirral Community Carbon Reduction Programme. Displays will highlight global environmental issues.
Rock Ferry Community Partnership will hold a Taiko Music Festival, which will see groups from schools across Wirral demonstrating their drumming skills.
One hundred and one drummers will play together – marking 101 years since a campaign prevented Bidston Hill from becoming a housing estate. Other community groups involved in the event include the Friends of Flaybrick, Tam O’Shanter Farm and Bidston Hill and Bidston Conservation Committee.
The event will take place between 10am and 4pm in Bidston Village and on the public open space and field in Lennox Lane.
