A ROCKING new radio show is looking for Wirral bands to take part.
Rock on 7 Waves, which is sponsored by Birkenhead venues Revolver and the Swinging Arm, has already featured interviews with music legends Marseille, Megadeth, Bad Company, Glenn Hughes and Steve Hackett.
Now bands are being asked to get in touch with their upcoming dates – and some could be asked to perform live on air.
The show, which first aired in July, is presented by Kevin McDempster and Keith Thompson.
Keith said: “We’re still short of Wirral bands and promoters sending us their what’s on lists, with a possibility of coming in and doing live radio sessions.
“We have the record company contacts who tune in to hear their acts being featured.
“So our local talent should use this opportunity to use that connection.”
Plans for the future include more live sessions, live outside broadcasts, gig previews, event promotions and an educational link with Liverpool John Moores University.
The show has proved popular with music fans across the world, with listeners from Japan, the USA, Holland and Germany tuning in to broadcasts on the internet.
A recording will also be played on the www.revolver-rocks.com website and live through the Swinging Arm PA system.
Keith added: “Our aim has been to strike a balance between profiling the big names in rock alongside local acts who are breaking into the industry.
“Thanks to our sponsor support from Revolver and Swinging Arm, we’ve achieved phase one.
“The internet link has proved very popular.”
