THE RESTAURANT at the Shrewsbury lodge is the perfect venue for a light lunch or candlelit dinner.

Set in the heart of Oxton’s conservation area, The Restaurant is part of Shrewsbury Lodge, a family-run 16-bedroom renovated Victorian hotel built in 1877.

The choice of starters includes delicious home-made chicken liver pate, fresh melon and soups.

Main courses include lamb shanks served with mint sauce duck breast and steaks cooked to your liking.

There is also a wide selection of fish, chicken and vegetarian dishes.

No three-course meal would be complete without a wide-ranging selection of tempting sweets like profiteroles, sticky toffee pudding and apple pie.

The Sunday lunch at The Restaurant is a must and customers can choose from a wide selection of roast dinners, fish and vegetarian meals served with fresh vegetables and home-made gravy – there is something for everyone.

The Shrewsbury Lodge also has a function suite which makes a perfect setting for christenings, birthdays, weddings, birthdays and business conferences. Buffets and menus for your special occasion can be tailored to your needs.

The hotel offers guests a choice of single, double, family and twin rooms.

All are non-smoking, and boast an en-suite shower, colour TV and tea and coffee-making facilities.

The Restaurant is open Monday to Saturday from 6-9pm and Sunday from noon to 3pm.

It is now taking bookings for Christmas parties and Christmas day, so you best get in quick if you want to book a special table at this lush restaurant.
