THE winner of the feature film award at Wirral International Film Festival 2008 is holding talks with US distributors and could see his production released internationally.
Daniel Fox’s Dreamscape was made for a mere £5,000, but the Neston-based film-maker could be a couple of signatures away from generating around £5million over five years, if the right distribution deal is chosen and the most lucrative release path pursued.
The 28-year-old told the News: “Sample contracts have been sent through from US distributors who have international links, and we’re trying to get interest from a few UK ones as well.
“We licence the rights for a specified period of time, they promote the film, put it on DVD and you get a percentage.
“We’re hoping to make a decision about who to go with, and should sign within the next month.”
Daniel, who runs production company Chat Noir with business partner Mark Ellingham, shot Dreamscape entirely on location in Birkenhead, Wallasey, Liverpool, Chester, Ellesmere Port, Neston and Wrexham, where he attended university.
He said: “The film is a sci-fi thriller, with quite a 70s feel.
“It’s about a bored businessman, who goes to a company called Dreamscape.
“They offer ideal dream sequences, so he signs up.
