A HUGE Chelsea Reach reunion is being planned this weekend.
After nearly 2,000 people joined The Chelsea Nightclub appreciation society on Facebook, its former owners decided to turn their new club into the Chelsea for one night only.
And so this Saturday from 10pm-4am the Latin Quarter, Birkenhead, will change its name.
The Chelsea Reach experienced over 20 years of clubbing before it closed in 2003 and at its peak was one of the most popular nightclubs in the area.
Some of the North West’s biggest DJ's including Anton Powers, Lee Butler, Ian Longo and Dave Graham played there.
Many couples, now married with children in Wirral, met at the clubbing spot and many friendships were made.
The owners of the Latin Quarter are hoping all these people will come and share their memories this weekend while they dance to ‘old school‘ classics played at the Chelsea.
A Chelsea reunion organiser said: “This will be the first ever reunion since the night club closed.
“I came across the appreciation society and was shocked by how many people had joined.
“So we thought this night would be a really good idea and attract some of the people in the appreciation society.
“I think the music made the Chelsea such a success and so we will recreate this and get the same great atmosphere, hopefully, with some of the same people.”
The night will offer four pint pitchers for £7, two-for-one cocktails, six shooters for £5 and vodka Red Bull for £2.
It costs £5 to get into the event, but this entry fee also includes admission to the Bambuddha Lounge which will play R’n’B and funky house all night.
