A WACKY fundraiser sat in a bath full of custard to help collect money for St John’s Hospice.
Helen Cowle, manager of Jewsons, Birkenhead, sat in the traditional dessert for two hours and managed to raise over £500.
She said: “It was fairly disgusting to sit in and very cold, but as the money kept dropping into the buckets it kept me going.”
Lynne Hamilton from St John’s Hospice said: “It was such a fun event and I would like to say well done to Helen for being such a good sport.
“I would also like to thank all her staff and customers for being so generous.
“We are working with Jewsons over the next 12 months as their chosen charity and we are looking forward to some more crazy ways of raising money.
“All funds raised will go towards providing essential care for our terminally ill patients.”
If you would like to raise money for St John’s Hospice why not take part in the abseil down Leasowe Lighthouse on Saturday August 1.
