NOMINATIONS for the unsung heroes and heroines of our community have been coming in thick and fast this week.
The Wirral News – in conjunction with its Trinity Mirror Cheshire sister titles – has joined forces with ScottishPower to host Your Champions 2009, an exciting venture which lets us pay tribute to those who make a difference in our area. These Samaritans will be honoured at a glittering presentation ceremony at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Chester, on Friday, November 6.
This week Sandra Courtney, of Birkenhead, nominated the Perry family which does a lot of work with the Salvation Army, Vincent Street.
Rob, 55, Gillian, 56 and their daughter Rebecca, 18, have helped raise thousands of pounds and recently travelled to India to work with children living in slums.
Every Thursday Rob, of Oxton, works with the homeless and narcotics anonymous in conjunction with The Kings Church, Birkenhead.
The Perry family also spent years volunteering at their church’s Sunday school.
To place a nomination, complete the form on this page or log on to www.wirralnews.co.uk and follow the Your Champions link.
