Birkenhead film producer to auction roles on Ebay

Shooting of the movie starts this October in the Wirral and Liverpool areas.

It is expected to cost around £30,000 – which will be partly funded by the Ebay auction.

Douglas said: “By funding it this way, we don't have to jump through the hoops of Lottery funding, which only want to give money to experimental films, not commercial like ours.

“It also means we can keep the locations all local.”

The auction will include opportunities for walk-on roles, recurring characters and the more high-profile parts.

Starting bids will range from £50 to £500. There are also “buy it now” options for those who cannot wait.

Douglas, who is producing the movie, said: “The auction is for about 15 parts out of 30, and there will be a crew of about 20.”

His previous film, Freelance Journalist, was made in 2004 and shown at the Portobello Film Festival.
