Go green in Wirral for Fathers Day

THIS Sunday is Fathers Day – the perfect excuse to celebrate the great outdoors with your dad.

Birkenhead Park Visitor Centre is hosting What’s Buzzing in the Park from 2pm. It’s a ranger-led guided walk looking at the diversity of insect life – moths, butterflies, bees and dragonflies. Details from 0151 652 5197 or www.wirral.gov.uk.

The TravelWise Cycle Challenge runs along Seacombe Coastal Path on Sunday. It’s a pleasant cycle ride from the Pierrot Clown Roundabout, Kings Parade, New Brighton at 2pm. Details from www.LetsTravelWise.org.

GREEN dads will love the new range from Bulldog. They’re made without parabens, sodium laureth sulfate, artificial colours or synthetic fragrances. Instead they’re loaded with essential oils and natural ingredients. We love their Original Shave Gel containing seven essential oils and aloe vera, jojoba, and konjac mannan. It’s £3.49 from www.meetthebulldog.com.

New Brighton is the place to be for sand, sea and sausages, it seems. Artistic young Wirralians are being invited to take part in a sand sculpture competition and BBQ on Thursday June 25, from 6.30-9.30pm. Teams, aged between 13 and 19 should register with Mike Holbrook at Wallasey Young People’s Project on 0151 691 1761 or email michaelholbrook@wirral.gov.uk. Entry is £5 per team.
