A DRIVER was killed after a fatal crash on the M53 motorway in Wirral.
Police were called to the accident at Junction 3 of the motorway, near Woodchurch, just after midnight on Sunday.
A silver Vauxhall Corsa had collided with the central barrier.
The driver was taken to Arrowe Park Hospital where he later died of his injuries.
Merseyside Police has not released details of the driver’s identity or where he lives.

BANK holiday motorists faced lengthy delays yesterday as a “horrific” crash which left four dead forced the closure of a busy stretch of motorway.
Traffic was diverted from the scene of the collision, on the M6 southbound near Walsall, for more than seven hours when the road was closed.
Vehicles heading north were also diverted for six hours following the two-car crash which happened just before 6am.
The fatalities, all men, had been travelling in two cars – a silver Ford Fusion and a Peugeot 406.
All four were confirmed dead at the scene, close to the M5 interchange.
