Wallasey mum Jane Howell to be evicted because of son’s bad behaviour

A WOMAN will be thrown out of her home after a “serious incident” involving her son broke her contract with her landlord.

Wirral’s anti-social behaviour team took action against Jane Howell, 33, of Hillcroft Road, Wallasey, after the incident, which cannot be described for legal reasons, affected people in her neighbourhood.

Action was originally taken against Howell and a possession order obtained in November 2007, but she was given a final opportunity to complete her tenancy with Wirral Partnership Homes satisfactorily.

This order was breached by the boy, who is currently in custody.

On May 14, Liverpool county court found the breaches of Howell’s tenancy agreement since the possession order were serious and the final incident her son was involved in had a “significant impact” on residents.

The court said she should be evicted “without hesitation” because there was a real danger the problems would continue.

Because Howell herself was not responsible for the breaches, it was found enforcement of any warrant for her eviction should not be carried out for 56 days.

Caroline Laing, manager of Wirral anti-social behaviour team, said: “The behaviour which led to this eviction order was completely and utterly unacceptable.”

Brian Simpson, chief executive of Wirral Partnership Homes, added: “Tenants are responsible for the behaviour of their children and this was made very clear in the outcome of this case.”

Howell has until July 8 to leave.
