Wirral band Hippys on the Hill join skaters at UK’s biggest urban festival

RISING stars Hippys on the Hill are playing at the UK’s biggest free urban and extreme sports festival on Sunday (May 24).

Extreme sports fans, skaters and bands will be taking over Liverpool’s Wellington Dock this weekend for the Liverpool Hub Festival.

The Hippys are 16-year-olds Brad Done (guitar, vocals), Sean McMinn-Davies (bass/vocals), Craig Henderson (guitar/vocals) and Mike Priest (drums/vocals).

The band recently won a competition to have one of their songs featured on a CD released by Classic Rock magazine.

Editor Sian Llewellyn said: “One listen to this band and like us at Classic Rock, you’ll probably be astounded to learn their age.

“Despite their tender age, this bunch are already veterans. We think our readers are gonna love them!”

The CD will be given away with the magazine in August/September.

Bassist Sean McMinn-Davies said: “It’s amazing to think this CD will take our music to 70,000 rock fans around the world. It’s a massive opportunity.”

Hippys on the Hill are playing at the O2 Academy in Liverpool on Saturday, June 20 and have been offered a headline slot at the venue in the autumn.

The band now have a management deal and are looking forward to going into the studio this summer to record debut album.

They plan to launch a full-on offensive on larger venues nationwide from September.
