A SURVEY has found residents in Wirral think car parking charges are the biggest barrier to attracting shoppers.
After traders in Liscard launched a campaign to urge more people to use local shops, Cllr Leah Fraser wrote to 5,000 residents asking for their views.
Cllr Fraser said: “The cost of parking in the town, and the lack of parking, has been mentioned as the biggest deterrent to encouraging more people to use our local shops.
“Other councils are looking at what can be done – councillors in Chester and Rochdale for example, have scrapped car parking charges after 3pm.”
The results of the survey will be shared with the members of the Liscard Traders Association
