BIRKENHEAD golfer Paul Waring slipped down the field at the Madeira Islands Open BPI Portugal after a disappointing second round of 74.
The 24-year-old Bromborough Golf Club member got off to a poor start with a bogey at the first hole.
Although he picked up a birdie at the par four fourth hole he immediately dropped another shot at the fifth.
He reached the turn one over for his round and dropped further shots at the 14th and 15th left him one-over for the tournament.
He lies in joint 18th place eight shots off the pace being set by Northern Ireland golfer Michael Hoey, whose round of 66 put him on seven under.
