Top marks for maths challenge whizz kids

PUPILS from Prenton High School won the Birkenhead Sixth Form Maths Challenge last week.

Students Lauren Slaven, Sarah Wilson, Deborah Fish and Michelle Fletcher won a trophy and a cheque for £40.

The challenge involved solving difficult mathematical problems and puzzles and answering quickfire questions.

It is the first time that Prenton High School, a Specialist College in Science, Mathematics and the visual arts, has won the prize.

The competition was started by Birkenhead Sixth Form College in 2004.
