Wirral construction companies given £50k cash boost

CONSTRUCTION companies in Wirral have received a £50,000 cash injection from ConstructionSkills to help them develop staff training and gain a competitive advantage to bring more business to the borough.

The initiative has been launched to raise awareness of the grants available to construction companies and 10 firms have now been helped by the funding.

Using the dedicated grants, the companies, who have shared the £50,000 between them, now have detailed training plans to up-skill their employees, putting them through courses ranging from management training to NVQs.

One of the companies benefiting from the investment is Wirral Roofcare Ltd, whose grant support totals more than £10,000.

Scott Williams, Wallasey branch manager, said: “We have been registered with ConstructionSkills for five years, but we were not aware that this funding and support was available on our doorstep.”

“It is already showing improvements in our business. This year we have seen increased revenue of £50,000 as a result of up-skilling our staff.”

“We can now prove that we are committed to training, which is becoming ever more important in winning big contracts.”
