CLLR David Elderton, chairman of Wirral Council’s planning committee, has asked us to point out that he did not make the comments attributed to him in last week’s report on the redevelopment of Hoylake’s Kings Gap Hotel.
Cllr Elderton did not say that the proposals were “exactly what Wirral and Hoylake need to take tourism and regeneration of the area forward”.
His only comments were to summarise and interpret the conclusions of the meeting by confirming that the application was approved, subject to conditions.
