British Red Cross to provide Christmas shopping service for housebound in Birkenhead

A CHRISTMAS shopping support service is being provided in Birkenhead this year by the British Red Cross.

The charity will be providing an opportunity for housebound people to carry out their Christmas shopping safely and securely in the town centre.

The charity will be providing trained volunteers, who will collect people from their house and escort them with shopping, providing refreshments and a lift back home.

People can take advantage of the service in the afternoon and evening of December 4 and 11.

An afternoon service will also be available on December 18.

The service is free but donations to the charity will be encouraged.
