Age Concern Wirral has launched the third poster in its PEACE campaign, highlighting abuse of the elderly
AGE Concern Wirral has launched the third poster in its current hard-hitting PEACE campaign.
It deals with the issue of neglect and is one of a series of five which highlight the five main forms of elder abuse.
The PEACE campaign – Preventing Elder Abuse and Changing Experiences – has been sponsored by Comic Relief and aims to raise awareness of abuse of the elderly.
It is hoped that by bringing these issues out into the open, older people can recognise and report abuse which. in turn. will lead to many victims getting the help and support they desperately need.
Age Concern Wirral is currently running a promotion about the project on the Life Channel which is being aired in more than 40 GP practices and dentists’ surgeries throughout the borough.
The PEACE campaign is one of 14 projects in the country all dealing with elder abuse, which have been sponsored by Comic Relief.
Due to the success of the Age Concern Wirral project, Comic Relief is working closely with the charity to develop plans for national media coverage on Red Nose Day. More information on this will soon be available and, meanwhile, the project is continuing to move forward and reach as many people as possible.
