Wirral tourism staff honoured at awards ceremony

THE quality of service and professionalism of Wirral’s tourism industry was celebrated at last week’s Tourism Awards for Excellence.

The borough’s food and drink industry fared particularly well, with two awards for the Cowshed restaurant at the Wheatsheaf in Raby and The Wro in West Kirby picking up Most Professional Bar Team for the second year running.

Kevin Reid, director of Ness Gardens, won the Wirral Tourism Ambassador Award for his continued dedication and contribution to Wirral tourism.

The award was presented by Deputy Mayor of Wirral, Councillor Andrew Hodson.

Cllr Bob Moon, cabinet member for culture, tourism and leisure, said: “This event is an ideal opportunity to reward staff in the tourism industry, recognise quality and celebrate achievements.

“Everyone here has made their own personal contribution and finalists should be proud of their achievements.

“They are a credit to the industry.”
