Prenton man in court accused of hammer attack on mother

A PRENTON man accused of attempting to murder his mother in a hammer attack appeared at Liverpool Crown Court on Thursday.
Andrew Ellis, 39, of Downing Close, is alleged to have attacked his mother, Elizabeth Ellis, with the weapon as she slept in her bed on August 11 this year.
He had been expected to enter his plea but this was adjourned until January 14. He was further remanded in custody.
