Angela Eagle MP
WALLASEY MP Angela Eagle visited the Wirral Churches Ark project in Birkenhead to spend the afternoon looking at the work being done to support homeless and vulnerable people across the borough.
She met staff, volunteers and service users past and present and view the facilities available as well as hearing about plans for the future.
The centre, at Mary Cole House, Sandford Street, offers residents sleeping facilities, three meals a day, facilities for washing clothes, advice and activities.
It is staffed and open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and has been supporting local people since 1992.
The MP said: “It is an invaluable local service and it’s good for people to know there is somewhere for them to turn should they find themselves in need.”
