WIRRAL Council has issued winter safety advice for pedestrians, motorists and cyclists.
The council is reminding adults and children to make sure they can be seen by vehicles in the darker mornings and evenings.
The advice includes:
l Preparing for darker nights by ensuring children wear brighter or light-coloured clothing to help them be seen by other road users
l Reflective materials such as jackets or arm bands should be worn at night as they show up l Cyclists should ensure they were reflective jackets and bands and having working lights on bikes
l Motorists should ensure headlights are on and allow extra time to de-mist windscreens before starting a journey
Cllr Jean Quinn, cabinet member for streetscene and transport services, said: “By reminding people of the importance of being seen after dark, we are hoping to further reduce the number of accidents during the winter months when it gets darker earlier.”
