Wirral Society set to mark 80 years

THE Wirral Society is organising a major conference for conservation groups to mark its 80th anniversary.

The conference, on Saturday, November 1 at Wirral Museum in Birkenhead, will include workshops on the protection and management of conservation areas.

Speakers during the day will include Graham Arnold, Wirral Council’s principal conservation officer, Celia Garvey, chairman of Neston Civic Society and Graeme Ives, historic areas adviser for English Heritage.

Areas represented on the day will include Port Sunlight, Oxton, Parkgate, Caldy, Thornton Hough and Wallasey. For more information visit www.wirralsociety.net
