Wirral Society plans conference to mark 80th anniversary

THE Wirral Society is organising a major conference for conservation groups to mark its 80th anniversary.

The conference, on Saturday, November 1 at Wirral Museum in Birkenhead, will include workshops on the protection and management of conservation areas.

Speakers during the day will include Graham Arnold, Wirral Council’s principal conservation officer, Celia Garvey, chair of Neston Civic Society and Graeme Ives, historic areas advisor for English Heritage.

Areas represented on the day will include Port Sunlight, Oxton, Parkgate, Caldy, Thornton Hough and Wallasey.
