WIRRAL’S biking community will show they have spirit this weekend as they join St Mary’s Church, Eastham, in delivering food parcels to The Ark, Birkenhead.
This charity ride to feed the homeless comes only months after thousands of bikers delivered eggs to poorly children in the Wirral Egg Run.
The riders, carrying parcels of non-perishable food, will leave The Tap, Eastham Ferry, at 2pm on Sunday and travel down the A41 to The Ark in Sandford Street.
After delivering the goods, the bikers are invited to St Mary’s Church for a short blessing, testimonies, music and plenty of refreshments.
Event organiser and member of Merseyside Christian Motorcyclists Association, John Finan, 39, said: “If this ride is well supported, it could become an annual harvest time event, similar to the Egg Run, called Harvest for The Ark.
“Wirral’s biking community is very generous and this event is about bringing the community together to do something worthwhile.”
All the food will go to people at The Ark who, because of circumstances, found themselves without a home.
John added: “This project is very worthwhile and we are glad to help - we want as many people to join us in this as possible.”
If you want to join the ride, all bikers are meeting at 1.30pm at The Tap, Eastham Ferry on Sunday, October 26.
