THE public have given a huge thumbs-up to the planned £4.5bn Wirral Waters development.
Peel Holdings have just released results of their public exhibition last month, recording more than 95% of people supporting the project.
The results also revealed that the creation of jobs and training and retention of the port within the development are the most important elements of Wirral Waters for local people.
Peel Holdings say they are now working with Wirral Council and partners to address issues such as providing training and local jobs for local people, the role of Wirral Waters in improving the wider area, the need to progress the scheme as soon as possible and ensuring that new developments do not undermine existing shops.
Lindsey Ashworth, development director at Peel, said: “The messages coming across loud and clear are the need to think big and start now, especially jobs and training for local people.”
The results in full can be seen on the Wirral Waters website www.wirralwaters.co.uk
